Robert 'Bob' Frantz has been a Lifelong resident of Wells County. He was born in the Wells County Hospital in Bluffton
in 1946. Shortly after his birth, his parents moved from Bluffton to Liberty Center, where Bob spent the early years of his
life. Then in 1958, Bob's family moved back to Bluffton where he graduated from Bluffton High School in 1964. Bob then went
on to college at Purdue University from 1964 to 1966, graduating from the Indiana College of Mortuary Science in 1967. From
1968 to 1970, Bob served his country as a Sgt. in the United States Army in Vietnam. Bob then began his career in Law Enforcement,
joining the Bluffton Police Department as a patrolman in 1972.
Bob was promoted to the rank of Sgt. in 1980, and then became the Chief of Police in 1985. During his career in Wells
County Law Enforcement, he has completed numerous trainings and held many positions, locally and statewide. Some of those
